Sept 25

On the road again.....woops, I mean....Ịn the air again. Yes it is that time!  Heading back to Vancouver for my last cycle, cycle 6 of chemo.  Now donʼt go getting all excited and all.....I still have to go to Vancouver every three weeks, it will just be for shorter periods of time now.   So providing all the results come back in the best way possible, I will continue on the study. I will get randomized by the computer and that will determine if I am to continue on just the study drug that I have been taking - Bevacizumab or if I will also start Mirv, the other study drug. The flight was full today and very squishy, was not the most comfortable and I ended up with a veggie sandwich....was hoping for roast beef but thatʼs what you get for sitting in the back. But hey, Air North feeds you so really canʼt complain. This cycle my sister, Miranda will be with me again and my daughter, Kiarra will join me at the end. A big thanks to Jacob and Ralph for supporting me throu...

Went to Beetlejuice with Jacob on Saturday. Was pretty good and enjoyed the time with him.  We went to the Keg for steak dinner on Sunday. Always love the steak there.  Monk headed home on Monday and Ralph flew in. Been very tired but have been trying to get some extra sleep but being a late night person makes that very difficult and because breakfast is from 7:30-8:30 you donʼt even get any sleep in time.. Been busy at work but not quite as much as the week before and after school started. Donʼt get me wrong, it is still hard to stay on top of but doing my best. Today was painting day and we chose a winter scene. Not my best work but had fun doing it. Got to visit with Glynis and Neil for a while which was really nice.

Sept 6

Had my infusion today.  Everything went well and had a little cat nap while watching a show on my ipad.  Then back to the lodge to finish off work for the day.  Jacob was with me and we made a bit of a ruccus in the room today, which I might add was full and my chair was broken.  He was watching facebook clips or tik tok or something and kept showing me clips that had us in stitches. Breakfast today was poached eggs, turkey sausages and raison toast with peanut butter and raspberry jam. Lunch was quiche and a broccoli salad.  I really like quiche.  Dinner was chicken sante fae with rice and mixed vegetables.   We took it easy for the evening and I crocheted some items for a new project and watched some shows. Tomorrow we get to sleep in an extra half hour because breakfast starts at 8 instead of 7:30.  Yay us!

It has been a long while. My numbers for day 8 on Aug 23 were 1.2 which was lower than 1.4 on day 1.  However, I was still able to get my infusion because as long as you are over 1, you are good to go.  When I got my blood work done, they had to try twice but then they left it in for the infusion so I did not have to get another poke.  So much easier that they can take blood from the port and do the chemo. Each time I get treatment, I seem to be even more tired and have a harder time recovering.  This is normal, I would think, considering what they are pumping into the body but it doesn't mean I have to like it! It was a long week with school starting back up.  So many requests and so little time and so little manpower. I was treated on Monday with a soak at Eclipse Nordic Hotsprings by my son and his girlfriend Cass.  It was very nice, relaxing and appreciated.  Thanks monk! I am back in Vancouver with Jacob.  My numbers today are 1.5 so a little...
